Just a note to let you know what has been going on with my case. Before I go any further may I take this chance to thank you all very much for your help over the years. As you all know back in November I submitted a document to the Attorney General. There is a press release which will be released today following my posting on here; I have attached this to my posting.
Anne Williams (Hillsborough)
Briefing
On the 21 November 2005, Anne Williams, Mother of Kevin Williams (Deceased) who died at the Hillsborough Disaster, submitted a Memorial requesting that he grant leave under Section 2 of the European Human Rights Act and Section 13 of the Coronas Act, and grant leave to reopen the inquest on the death of her son Kevin.
Her Majesty’s Attorney General has expressed his deepest sympathy to Anne Williams, and has acknowledged her inner need to underpin the events which led to the tragic death of her Son Kevin.
The Attorney General has refused to grant leave under Section 13 of the Coronas Act. However, he has made no comment as to leave being granted under Section 2 of the European Human Rights Act
In light of this, and after discussion with her solicitors, Anne has given direct instruction to seek a judicial review, and also is waiting for counsel to confirm appointments to discuss the instigation of Private Prosecution against Dr David Slater.
This is an achievement, as the Attorney General has potentially unlocked the door to a positive outcome
Submitted in the memorial document was new evidence, highlighting beyond all doubt that there was not a vigorous inquiry during both the mini and full inquests held after the disaster.
You will all see by the press release that I have yet another battle to try and win. The next stop after judicial review for Kev’s case is Europe. I can’t achieve this without your support.
As some of you may know, I am no longer chairperson or have any association with the HJC, of which I resigned last month.
I will be establishing a new campaign; this is called Hope for Hillsborough, if any one has any ideas on how I can achieve our goal please get in touch. I am in the process of establishing a new website that will keep you all informed.
